Employers look to hire individuals who have undergone legal assistant education to fulfill these duties and act as a legal support staff that attorneys can lean on as part of their resources when working to fulfill client needs. There are a variety of education programs that accomplish just that which can be found in trade schools and community colleges. For those who have secretarial experience, a certificate or associate’s degree in legal administrative studies and can take at least three quarters to complete. If you have little to no office experience then an associate’s degree is you best option that can open up more employment opportunities once the program has been completed. The program should contain courses that are specific to legal secretaries, as well as general study courses such as math and the natural sciences.
